Monday Motivation : Stop Complaining

When you complain you are being reactive. When you are being reactive you will find it more difficult to break free from the cycle of blame, pain and unhappiness that you might be in.

If you want to stay in this cycle, then by all means, continue on with your complaining. Keep focusing on all those things that “make” you angry and mad and all the people and circumstances who are “making” you feel that way.

If you want to break free and get out of the land of blame and pain and move forward to create happiness and success in your life, career, and relationships, stop complaining.

Instead focus on what you do have. Focus on what you are grateful for. Focus on moving forward and creating the reality that you want, instead staying stuck on everything you wish was not there.

Refocusing on what you are grateful for will get you in a present frame of mind. It is in this present state that you will feel calm, happy, and hopeful. This is the state of mind that will also get you to look ahead and start creating…instead of complaining.

I experienced this just the other day. While my husband was away on a business trip, I was left with much to do on my own. Thinking about my circumstances I could have easily and understandable complained about all that I have to do. But I also knew that that complaining would not make my situation any better. In fact it would only make things worse and deplete me of my well-needed energy even more. In that moment, when I could have chosen to complain, I chose to be grateful. I focused on what was most important to me: my children and being there for them; and my clients and being there for them. It was this focus on being grateful that gave me the strength and the energy I required to move forward and do what I knew I wanted to and needed to do.

This shift from complaining to being grateful will give you the strength to move forward too.

Try it and let me know how it goes.

Create, don’t hate.

In support and admiration,
