Here are some practical things you can do to help yourself move forward and experience more fulfillment at work.
1️⃣ Acknowledge what is.
A big part of your frustration is that you are coming in each day thinking that this isn’t the way you want things to be. Approaching your work in this way can make every moment at work feel like torture, because you are arguing with reality.
2️⃣ Decide what you want to do.
Given the information you are getting at work, decide what you want to do about it. Do you want to stay and see what happens? If so, you can decide on a reasonable deadline for when you will stay until and then reassess when you get to that date. Do you want to stay and look for another job? Do you want to quit and look for another job? Whatever it is that you want to do, make the decision and go all in on that decision.
3️⃣ Create fulfillment for yourself.
Whatever it is that you decide to do, take personal responsibility to create fulfillment for yourself instead of waiting for your job to bring or give that to you. Think of your qualities, values and needs, and brainstorm all the ways you can bring value to your life and to those around you in, and outside of, work.
