I have been thinking about my personal energy and what in my life right now fills me with energy, and what, if anything, is depleting it.
This is a useful tool to apply when you have a decision to make about whether or not to continue with something you are involved with, or whether or not to enter into a new project, or even relationship with someone (either personal or professional.) You can ask yourself: Is what I am doing adding to my energy (i.e. filling me up) or depleting it? We want to be involved in activities, things, and relationships that fill us up, rather than drain us. Of course, we also want to take personal responsibility and first see what it is that we can do to infuse what we are doing, or our relationships, with energy. That action on our part can ignite what we are doing and our relationships with the burst of energy that is required to create good and satisfying feelings. If however, after having done your part (honestly and fully) and you still find that no matter what you do, you are still feeling depleted, consider the possibility that it is time to let go and move in another direction. Like the candles we light on Chanukah, adding another candle each night and filling our homes with more and more light, you deserve to be doing and to be surrounded by those things and those people who fill you up. Think about what those things are for you. In the meantime, please also enjoy a handbook I created with my children last year with daily tips for the eight days of Chanukah for how to bring more ‘light’ into your own life, your relationships, and the world. You can find the handbook here: http://www.unleashingu.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/chanukah-2018.pdf Please feel free to share it with your friends and family. Wishing you a wonderful and bright holiday! In support and admiration, ~ Jenny |
